07.007 Sallow Longhorn Adela cuprella ([Denis & Schiffermüller], 1775)

Similar species:

Forewing: 6.5 to 7.5mm

Habitats: Heathland, fens and marshes.

Habits: The males fly in sunshine around the tops of flowering sallows.

Foodplant: The larva feeds in willow and sallow catkins. It then feeds on the ground from a case made of leaf fragments. The larva may overwinter two or three times. It pupates in the case.
