Habits:
Foodplant: The larva feeds on oaks and Sweet Chestnut in an orange-red, upper-surface blotch with a pattern of fine concentric lines around the oviposition site. There is no initial gallery. The full-fed larva overwinters in a chamber in the centre of the mine where it pupates in late April.
