Forewing: 3.5 to 5mm
Habitats: Deciduous woodland.
Habits: In hot summers in southern England a second generation of adults may emerge from August onwards.
Foodplant: The larva feeds on oaks and Sweet Chestnut in a milky white to slightly orange upper-surface blotch. There is no initial gallery. The full-fed larva overwinters in a chamber in the centre of the mine where it pupates in late April.
