Forewing: M 5 to 6mm, F wingless and worm-like
Habitats: Grassland and moorland.
Habits: The males fly in sunshine from mid morning until mid afternoon. Males come to light.
Foodplant: The larva overwinters while small. It feeds low down on grasses and is therefore rarely seen. The case is similar to that of Psyche casta , but composed of flat grasses rather than stems. It pupates in the larval case attached to a grass stem.
