Habitats: Coastal estuaries, salt-marshes.
Habits: The male flies in sunshine on calm days and comes to light.
Foodplant: The larva overwinters while small. It feeds amongst salt-marsh vegetation on Common Saltmarsh-grass and other grasses. The case consists of long thin sections of grass stem fixed longitudinally. It pupates in the larval case attached low down on a grass stem.
