Forewing: 5 to 8mm

Habitats: Wherever its larval foods are available.

Habits: The moth rests on bracket fungus or on tree trunks during the day. It flies in the morning and afternoon sun and from dusk. It later comes to light.

Foodplant: The larva feeds in bracket fungus including turkeytail fungi Trametes spp., Oak Mazegill fungus Daedalea quercina and Birch Polypore Fomitopsis betulina. It also feeds on callus tissue around birch tree wounds and occasionally stored vegetables products.
