Habits: Synanthropic.
Foodplant: The larva feeds from a silk tube on animal products such as fur, feather, hair, wool, blood and wool fabrics. It also feeds on dead insects, detritus in birds nests and detritus in nests of wasps and other Hymenoptera. It pupates in a spindle shaped cocoon.
