Habits: The moth occasionally comes to light.
Foodplant: The larva feeds from a silk tube on animal detritus, mammal hair and feathers in bird's nests and poultry houses and will also consume detritus in Hymenopteran nests. It has also been recorded feeding on stored vegetables and animal products in stables and barns.
