Habits: The moth rests on tree trunks or fences during the day.
Foodplant: The larva forms a gallery mine on elm with two to four, short, offset blind galleries. It later feeds externally, eating out windows from the underside of the leaf. It pupates in a white (non-corrugated) cocoon on bark or debris.
