Habits: The moth rests on tree trunks during the day.
Foodplant: The larva forms a long narrow gallery mine on Alder or Bog Myrtle. The mine is filled with black frass and often ends with a sharp right-angled turn. The larva later eats out windows from the underside of the leaf. It pupates in a pale yellow-brown, corrugated cocoon attached to a leaf-stalk or debris.
