Habitats: Deciduous woodland, downland, rocky coastal slopes and undercliff.
Habits:
Foodplant: The larva forms an upper surface, silvery blotch mine on a leaf of Wild Privet or Ash which causes the leaf to fold up over the mine. It then abandons it and lives in a downward rolled symmetrical cone formed at the end of a leaf. It pupates in a white cocoon in the cone with a preformed exit hole chewed in the leaf and covered in silk.
