Habitats: Deciduous woodland.

Habits:

Foodplant: The larva forms a large oval mine on the underside of an oak leaf. This strongly contorts the leaf and causes a central green patch on the upperside. It pupates in a cocoon attached to the green patch with frass stacked behind the cocoon.
