Habitats: Deciduous woodland, parks or wherever the foodplant is present.
Habits:
Foodplant: The larva forms a long mine between two veins on the underside or occasionally the upper surface of a Beech leaf. If the mine is near the leaf margin the edge may fold downwards. The mine is longer and narrower than that of Phyllonorycter messaniella.
