Habitats: Deciduous woodland, coppice, woodland margins and mature hedgerows.
Habits:
Foodplant: The larva forms an upper surface, whitish blotch mine on Hazel. There are often several mines together forming a large and papery surface which contracts causing the leaf to fold upwards. If on the margin a mine may cause the edge to fold over.
