Habits:
Foodplant: The larva forms a small mine on the underside of a birch leaf which gives a dried brown appearance to the upperside. There are up to six folds on the underside giving the appearance of one large fold. The leaf margins curve downwards due to the contraction caused by the mine. It pupates in a cocoon in the mine.
