Habitats: Woodland margins, parkland and mature hedgerows.
Habits:
Foodplant: The larva forms an oval, inflated mine which often crosses a vein and is in no set position on the underside of a leaf of English Elm or Small-leaved Elm. The upperside usually has a green area of uneaten cells. The underside has several folds. It pupates in a green-brown cocoon which is fairly pointed at each end.
