Habits:
Foodplant: The larva mines a long corridor (up to 30 cm) in the bark of a sucker or sapling of Grey Willow, Goat Willow or Eared Willow or occasionally Crack Willow, White Willow, Osier or Aspen. It may run up or down with the final gallery entering the petiole of a leaf and ending on the upper surface close to the base. It pupates in a white cocoon at the base of the upper surface of a leaf when on willows and on the under surface when on Aspen.
