Habitats: Deciduous woodland and woodland margins.

Habits: The moth occasionally comes to light.

Foodplant: The larva feeds gregariously in a web on Spindle, but usually in small numbers. It leaves the web in the last instar and feeds alone. Pupation takes place under a leaf and close to the ground in a flimsy cocoon.
