Habits: It is possibly extinct as the last record was in 1976.
Foodplant: The larva bores into the stem and roots of Orpine. It then lives gregariously with up to five others in a flimsy web with a silk tube that extends into the leaf litter. The larval presence is indicated by a grey, withered central shoot. It pupates in a cocoon spun in the leaf litter.
