Foodplant: The larva forms a short gallery mine on a leaf of Hawthorn or Rowan or occasionally roses or Wall Cotoneaster. Small numbers feed on the leaves from a flimsy web after overwintering in a silk cocoon on a twig. It pupates in a dense white cocoon on a twig or leaf.
