Habits:
Foodplant: The larva at first feeds in a short silvery gallery mine on Blackthorn. Then after overwintering under a silk web at the joint where a twig joins the main stem. It feeds gregariously on the leaves with a small number of other larvae and does this in a flimsy web situated on a sheltered low branch. It pupates in a white silk cocoon on a twig or a leaf.
