Habitats: Deciduous woodland, heathland, marshes, fens and river-banks.

Habits:

Foodplant: The larva mines a leaf bud, then in the spring the resulting shoot, of Goat Willow, Grey Willow and probably other willows. It may later feed in a rolled leaf.
