Habits: The moth can be found resting on inner walls during the day and later comes to light.
Foodplant: The larva lives in a silk gallery mixed with frass and detritus. It feeds on dried vegetable and animal matter, rotten wood, fungus, paper, dead insects and detritus in birds' nests, wasp nests and bee-hives. It pupates in the feeding place.
