Forewing: 7 to 10mm

Habitats: Heathland, wasteland and embankments.

Habits: The moth comes to light.

Foodplant: The young larva hibernates in a stem mine. In the spring it feeds between stems spun to form a slight web at a joint on Broom and possibly Dyer's Greenweed. It pupates in a cocoon in the earth.
