Forewing: 9 to 11.5mm

Habitats: Heathland, scrub, downland, wasteland, quarries and coastal slopes.

Habits: The moth comes to light.

Foodplant: The larva lives in a silk tube within spun young shoots of Gorse and Hairy Greenweed. On mainland Europe it is recorded from Western Gorse, Dwarf Gorse and Petty Whin. It pupates in the leaf litter.
