Habitats: Dry grassland, verges, embankments, ditches, wasteland and disused quarries.
Habits: The moth is sometimes disturbed in the day, but more usually recorded at light.
Foodplant: The larva lives in a silk tube amongst the flowers and seeds of Hogweed, Wild Parsnip, Fools Watercress and occasionally Narrow-leaved Water-dropwort. It pupates in the stem.
