Habits: The moth rests on tree trunks, posts and fences during the day. It comes to light.
Foodplant: The larva feeds under a slight web on the leaves and flowers of Viper's Bugloss and occasionally comfreys. On mainland Europe it has also been recorded from Hound's-tongue, gromwells and alkanet. It pupates in dead stems, rotten wood or in the leaf litter.
