Forewing: 5 to 5.5mm

Habitats: Chalk and limestone grassland, dry pasture and embankments.

Habits: The moth flies around its foodplants in sunshine.

Foodplant: The larva mines a petiole of Hairy Violet or Dog Violet. It later lives in a silk gallery in the rootstock. It pupates in a silk cocoon in the leaf litter.
