Adventive
Similar species:
Forewing: 5 to 6.5mm
Habitats: Orchards and gardens.
Habits: It was thought to have been a temporary colonist in south and south-east England, but these records are now thought to be Anarsia innoxiella.
Foodplant: The early stages have not been recorded in Britain. Abroad the spring larva feeds inside terminal shoots of peaches, apricots, nectarines, cherries and plums, causing wilting, then the death of the shoot. The summer larva enters the fruit through the stem, although they will move directly to other fruit that are touching the original host.
