Habitats: Deciduous woodland, hedgerows and scrub.
Habits: The moth was last recorded in Surrey in 1939.
Foodplant: The larva feeds within an open ended, upward folded or rolled Blackthorn leaf. On the European mainland it is also recorded from Crab Apple, Hawthorn, Dewberry and brambles. It pupates in the leaf litter.
