Habits: The moth can be swept from the foodplant in the day. It comes to light.
Foodplant: The larva mines Common Orache, Garden Orache, Fat-hen, Tree Spinach, Many-seeded Goosefoot and Red Goosefoot forming a strongly contorted, intestine like gallery, containing much green frass and often partially forming a blotch. The larva may move to a second leaf if the first is small. On the European mainland it has also been recorded from Purple Orache, Good King Henry, Maple-leaved Goosefoot, Nettle-leaved Goosefoot, an Amaranthus sp. and Knot-grass. It pupates in the leaf litter.
