Habitats: Arable fields, grain stores and foodstore warehouses.
Habits: The moth hides in cracks in the walls of foodstores. It is occasionally recorded at light outside.
Foodplant: After boring an almost undetectable tiny hole, the larva feeds within a seed of Wheat, Barley, Rye, Maize, Oats and a variety of other cereal and flower seeds. The only external signs of larval presence are the tiny holes and the dust like frass. It pupates within a grain.
