Forewing: 5 to 6.5mm

Habitats: On walls around urban and rural buildings and areas of rocks and boulders, even those high on mountains.

Habits: The moth is only occasionally disturbed in the day. It flies at dusk and later comes to light.

Foodplant: The larva feeds from within a silk tube amongst mosses on walls, boulders and stones. It is known to feed on Bryum sp. and Schistidium sp. of moss, but is predicted to feed on a wide range of other moss species. It pupates in the moss.
