Habitats: Heathland and mosses or raised bogs.
Habits: The moth flies in the afternoon and evening. It occasionally comes to light.
Foodplant: In a slender silk tube spun amongst the twigs of Heather. It makes several of these tubes. On the European mainland it has also been recorded from Crowberry and Alpine Heath (the latter is grown in British gardens). It pupates in a loose cocoon amongst the Heather.
