Similar species:
Forewing: 4.5 to 5mm
Habitats: salt-marshes
Habits: The moth can be swept from the foodplants. It flies at sunrise and in the evening and later comes to light.
Foodplant: There are two generations. In the summer the larva feeds on unripe seeds from a silk gallery spun in the flowers of Thrift or sometimes Common Sea Lavender. The autumn silk gallery is similar, but it is in the dry heads of the foodplant. It pupates in a flimsy cocoon in the flower or seed-head.
