Similar species:

Forewing: 6 to 7mm

Habitats: Deciduous woodland,scrub, damp heathland, moorland, fens, marshes, river-banks and sand-dunes.

Habits: The moth rests on tree trunks during the day. It flies from dusk and comes to light.

Foodplant: The larva feeds in a spinning on the shoots or leaves and sometimes the female catkins of Goat Willow, Grey Willow, Osier, Creeping Willow, Eared Willow and possibly other willows. On the European mainland it is also recorded on Purple Willow.
