Forewing: 5.5 to 8mm
Habitats: Fenland, coastal shingle with damp scrub, damp coastal field margins and disused quarries.
Habits: The moth rests on tree trunks during the day. It flies from dusk and comes to light.
Foodplant: The larva feeds in the female catkins or spun terminal shoots of Goat Willow, Grey Willow and possibly poplars. It pupates in a light spinning amongst the fruit capsules.
