Habitats: Deciduous woodland, river-banks and suburban areas.
Habits: The moth rests on tree trunks during the day, but is easily disturbed. It flies from dusk and comes to light.
Foodplant: The larva feeds between two leaves spun flat together on Aspen, White Poplar or Grey Poplar. On the European mainland it is also recorded on the catkins of Black Poplar and willows.
