Foodplant: The larva feeds on Spear-leaved Orache, Babbington's Orache and other oraches and goosefoots. It feeds on the pith in the stems, ejecting the dry whitish frass through a hole in the stem. It has also been recorded feeding between spun fruit on Babbington's Orache. It pupates in the stem or amongst debris on the ground. On the European mainland it is recorded as feeding on Grass-leaved Orache, Sea Orache and goosefoots.
