Habits: The moth can be disturbed in sunshine. It comes to light.
Foodplant: The young larva mines irregular galleries or blotches on Common Orache, Babington's Orache, Spear-leaved Orache, Fat-hen and other goosefoots. It later feeds on the spun leaves or flowers and seeds, depending on the time of year. It pupates in debris on the ground. On the European mainland it is also recorded as feeding on Sea-purslane, Maple-leaved Goosefoot, Fig-leaved Goosefoot, Sea-beet and in Denmark cultivated Quinoa.
