Similar species:

Forewing: 4.5 to 5.5mm

Habitats: Sheltered open grassland, hedge banks, parkland and gardens.

Habits: The moth rests on tree trunks. It flies in the late afternoon and later comes to light.

Foodplant: The larva feeds on Common Mouse-ear or Common Chickweed. The larva lightly spins a flower shoot or a seed-capsule spun to a leaf and feeds on the flowers and developing seeds. It pupates in a cocoon in the leaf litter.
