Forewing: 5 to 6mm
Habitats: Large coastal sand-dunes, that are open with fairly low plant cover.
Habits: The moth flies from dusk and comes to light.
Foodplant: The larva lives inside the flowers and seed-capsules without a spinning, feeding on the developing seeds of Common Mouse-ear. It pupates on the ground in a white silk cocoon disguised with sand and plant debris. On the European mainland it has also been recorded on Little Mouse-ear and subspecies strictum of Field Mouse-ear which is not present in Britain.
