Forewing: 5 to 6.5mm

Habitats: Deciduous open woodland and woodland margins, hedgerow verges and shady sheltered banks.

Habits: The moth comes to light and sugar.

Foodplant: The larva mines a full depth gallery, usually at the base of a leaf of Greater Stitchwort. It later spins a terminal shoot and feeds on the leaves and buds. It pupates in the leaf litter. On the European mainland it is also recorded as feeding on Field Mouse-ear and Bog Stitchwort.
