Habits: The moth can sometimes be found resting on a leaf of the foodplant in the day. It comes to light.
Foodplant: The larva feeds on Hawthorn, apples and sometimes Rowan. It lives between two or sometimes several spun leaves. Pupation takes place in a pale cocoon in the spinning. On the European mainland it has been recorded from Blackthorn, Wild Plum, Snowy Mespilus, Midland Hawthorn, Wild Service-tree, Alpine Whitebeam, Cultivated Apple and Cultivated and Wild Pears.
