Habitats: Mature pines on heathland.

* The Distribution Map only includes the first few records where the moth has had the genitalia checked to separate from Batrachedra pinicolella as they were only recently split. Batrachedra confusella is expected to be the commoner species.

Habits: The moth comes to light and is easily disturbed from mature pines.

Foodplant: Pines and possibly Larch needles. The larva feed from a silken gallery spun along a twig.
