Forewing: 5 to 6.5mm

Habitats: Downland, scrub, disused quarries, wasteland and coastal grassland.

Habits: The moth is mainly diurnal and flies in sunshine.

Foodplant: The early stages have not been recorded due to confusion with Coleophora alcyonipennella. The larva probably feeds on the unripe seeds of Red Clover after first boring through the florets.
