Similar species:
Forewing: 5.5 to 6.5mm
Habitats: Downland, scrub, disused quarries, wasteland and coastal grassland.
Habits: The moth is mainly diurnal and flies in sunshine. It also comes to light.
Foodplant: The early stages of this species are not suffiiciently recorded due to confusion with Coleophora frischella. It is thought that the larva bores through the florets and feeds on the unripe seeds of White Clover or Alsike Clover. The trivalved case is made from a clover petal and it pupates in the feeding place or on the ground.
