Similar species:
Forewing: 5 to 6mm
Habitats: Where the foodplants are present. This includes bogs, woodland and commons.
Habits: The moth sits on the trunks of willows.
Foodplant: The early stages are not fully recorded. The larva is a bark feeder. The adults have been found flying around or sitting on the trunks of White Willow, Grey Willow and Goat Willow.
On the European mainland it has also been recorded flying around Crack Willow and one was reared from a section of Goat Willow trunk.
