Habitats: Arable land or dry sandy or gravelly soils.

Habits: The moth flies close to the ground in sunshine or jumps when disturbed.

Foodplant: The early stages have not been recorded in Britain. On the European mainland the larva feeds on Perennial Knawel and Annual Knawel. The larva feeds from within a long silk tube covered in debris and sand and attached to the stems of the foodplant
