Habitats: Salt-marsh and cliffs in one area.

Habits: The moth is sometimes disturbed in warm weather. It flies at dusk and later comes to light and sugar.

Foodplant: The larva feeds on the leaves of Common Sea-lavender or Sea Aster or rarely Rock Sea-lavender. The larva eats holes in large arcs. It sits along the midrib of the underside of a leaf during the day. It pupates on the upper leaf surface.
